YOUR FOCUS
Reporting to the Communications Specialist, this position will support the development and implementation of communications strategies, plans, and tactics for the NCC. This position will also support the planning and execution of in-person and virtual events by the NCC.
This position will require creative thinking, positive attitude, flexibility, and an analytical approach to help advance the visibility and reputation of a Canadian not-for-profit with a national scope.
Communications
- Develop communications material that clearly supports the NCC’s vision and mission, and is consistent with the NCC’s brand
- Ensure all content is published in both official languages
- Write compelling content for a variety of channels (newsletter, emails, web, etc.) that adheres to the Canadian Press Stylebook
- Use Adobe Creative Suite to design graphics for a variety of channels (newsletters, emails, web, etc.)
- Ability to alter tone of written and visual content to suit a variety of target audiences (government, industry, academia, etc.)
- Develop social media campaigns, and assist in maintaining the NCC’s social media presence
- Produce monthly and annual analytics reports about the NCC’s social media, web, and e-newsletter performance, providing insights and recommendations
- Monitor media to stay apprised of industry-related news
- Support media relations activities by drafting key messages, news releases, and speaking notes
- Other duties as identified by the Communications team
Event Support
- Support the registration process for events, and communicate logistical details with attendees
- Provide French support for French-speaking attendees
- Maintain contact and outreach lists while adhering to PIPEDA and CASL legislation
- Attend NCC events, providing logistical support and ensuring that attendees have a positive experience
- Prepare PowerPoint presentations and other Audio/Visual material for events and presentations on behalf of NCC staff and board members
- Analyze the success of each event and making recommendations for improvement in future events
WHAT YOU BRING
- A university degree in communications, marketing, or a related field
- Five years of experience in communications and event support
- A positive attitude, and an eagerness to learn and grow
- An ability to manage a remote work schedule, and collaborate with colleagues across time zones
- Must be bilingual
- Demonstrated understanding of communication strategies and techniques, and experience working with different communication channels such as social media, email, and websites
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and initiatives
- Must have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must have knowledge of existing and evolving social media and digital platforms
- Availability to travel in Canada
- Must have the ability to work some weekends and evenings, as required, particularly to support the management of events
- Familiarity with Microsoft environment
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite
- Must reside in Canada
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
Salary range as of October 2025: $80,000 to $90,000, plus benefits

YOUR FOCUS
Reporting to the Director, Programs, this position supports a cross-functional project team responsible for the administration of complex grant-funded projects.
This is a key position which assists in all phases of the NCC’s granting program, including award agreement negotiations, ongoing project monitoring and review and assisting with active calls for proposals. Responsibilities further include communicating with, and providing guidance to, applicants and grant recipients on funding-related requirements and reporting. The position also contributes to the development of funding calls and processes, policies, procedures, and tools for post-award financial monitoring and compliance.
Specific accountabilities include:
· Post-award monitoring and evaluation by tracking project milestones and collecting and conducting reviews of required reporting (e.g. project workplans, budgets etc.) for compliance, completeness, and correctness. Reporting and communicating potential risks and/or areas of non-compliance.
· Administering award agreements, including preparing and reviewing agreements and amendments,
· Supporting the call for proposals by answering questions from potential applicants, interpreting, and providing clarity on proposal elements, and assisting potential grant recipients with applications.
· Conducting preliminary reviews on proposals to confirm compliance with application requirements and other criteria.
· Supporting activities to advise successful and unsuccessful applicants (e.g. award letters, rejection letters, debriefs).
· Maintaining ongoing and positive communication and engagement with current recipients and member organizations.
· Supporting the development of templates, forms, reports, and processes to administer all phases of the granting program.
· In collaboration with the Director, Programs and grants team, provide critical review and strategic recommendations based on funded projects to determine future funding calls/strategies.The position may be required to perform additional duties as assigned by the Director, Programs.
WHAT YOU BRING
- A university degree with extensive experience in grant administration, ideally in the public or not-for-profit sector.
- Knowledge of research funding including knowledge of post-award compliance best practices, especially in post-secondary institutions
- Strong analytical and objective problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a commitment to providing high quality client management and engagement.
- Skill in designing, writing, and editing complex funding documents including reporting requirements that align with policies, procedures and agreements. Experience in interpreting and applying government regulations and proposal guidelines.
- Advanced computer skills with proficiency in the Microsoft Suite. Comfortable setting up, working with and troubleshooting technology systems and paperless workflows.
- Resourceful self-starter with a proven ability to manage and prioritize projects effectively to meet deadlines.
- Comfortable with working remotely and independently with the ability to work collaboratively with other departments and stakeholders.
- Ability to work with an ethnically and culturally diverse population.
- Fluency in French (verbal and written) would be considered an asset.
- Positive and eager attitude that will bring energy to the organization.
- Must reside in Canada and be legally entitled to work in Canada
