Following the first call for proposals under Cyber Security Innovation Network (CSIN) program, 20 eligible projects were selected for funding for a total of $11.2M.
Applications were reviewed by a panel of external experts representing both private and public sector and assessed on five criteria:
- Overall progressive impact
- Cybersecurity posture
Awarded projects represented NCC’s five areas of focus:
- Privacy and Privacy Enhancing Technologies
- Critical Infrastructure Protection
- Network Security
- Human-Centric Cybersecurity
- Software Security
In February 2022, the Government of Canada announced that the NCC would lead the government’s new CSIN program. The NCC will distribute up to $80 million over four years towards a potential total project value in excess of $160 million, including significant cash and in-kind contributions from supporting organizations.
