NCC Expands Support for Funded Projects with over $1 Million in Funding
CANADA – December 16, 2025 – The National Cybersecurity Consortium (NCC) is pleased to announce that it will be awarding $1.025 Million in funding to previously awarded projects to support their advancement. Awardees have provided matching funds, representing a total investment in critical Canadian cybersecurity expertise exceeding $2 Million.
Earlier this year, the NCC’s Cyber Security Innovation Network Call for Proposals introduced a new funding category, offering 2023 and 2024 award recipients the opportunity to apply for top-up funding. This additional support will enable project teams to incorporate nascent insights or cover gaps that emerged during the course of their work. The projects receiving top-up funding are expected to reach completion between 2028 and 2029.
“Investing in Canadian cybersecurity expertise is more important than ever to protect individuals, businesses and organizations from the major risks posed by cyber threats. These projects will improve our digital safety and support a stable, thriving economy.”
– The Honourable Evan Solomon, Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation and Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario
“As projects evolve, new insights naturally emerge. By supporting awardees with top-up funds as part of this year’s Call for Proposals, we ensure that the promising ideas we funded have adequate resources to reach their full potential. We look forward to the work these teams will bring forward as they approach completion.”
– Dr. Charmaine Dean, NCC Board Chair
